I have deep ties to the Chicago marketing community. I have a Masters in Integrated Marketing from Northwestern University and worked as a marketer for top brands; Discover Card, GE Consumer Finance and Sears. For the past 10 years I’ve built Digital Megaphone and hosted educational workshops and summits for thousands of Chicagoland marketers. Over the years, I’ve had the incredible pleasure of working side by side with top marketers and featuring them at our workshops and Summits. I’ve learned from them, created partnerships and am lucky to have developed incredible friendships with a select few. What I know for sure is that Chicago’s marketing community is strong and overflowing with spectacular women. Today, on International Women’s Day, we’d like to feature and celebrate the women who are leading the charge in Chicago’s vibrant marketing landscape. The list is filled with women who have touched and inspired me over the years. Several of them like Amy Morgan, April Carlisle, Genevieve Mazzeo, Daniella Peting and Carol Fowler are award winning marketing and media professionals. Dine Simon built a million-dollar agency from scratch and has been a loyal supporter of Digital Megaphone and our mission of connecting and education marketers. Barbara Roering built a team from start-up mode to a thriving one. I love her passion for her work as she continues to learn and grow as she studies towards her Masters in IMC from Northwestern University while holding a full-time job and coaching her team. Dana Shank, Elly Moody, Dina Freeman, Gina Judge, Jamie Rutter and so many others’ campaigns touch millions of people. Sasha Bigda, Melissa Lederer, Melanie Jachles, Gina Judge, Debbie Myszynski, Jenn Sutherland, Lisa Chengary, Meg McKenna, Terez Stewart and many of the other women on this list are teachers and mentors to the next generation of female marketing leaders. Jessica Zweig and Sue Koch both inspire me with their energy and kind, entrepreneurial spirits. Tracy Yedlin is an expert in digital marketing and a poised leader and speaker. Dani Hubner has a passion for health and fitness. She’s leading the social media efforts at Fresh Thyme Farmer’s Market as they grow and expand their footprint of stores that offer fresh and healthy food at amazing values. Sarah Butterfass is an expert in loyalty marketing with a deep understanding of analytics and creating programs that encourage customer loyalty. Lindsay Lewis, Steph Casstevens, Jenny Cervantes, Libby Pederson, Nicole Stephani and Raquel Roman are all go-getters and the next generation of brilliant marketers. A few special thanks. While all of the women honored here are amazing a few have gone out of their way to support me and Digital Megaphone. Leslie Marshall is the ultimate marketer with the ability to gracefully manage large teams and projects while always innovating and creating a cutting-edge experience for her customers. She continues to inspire me with her ability to manage her team and events with thousands of attendees. Her support hosting our annual Digital Innovator summit over the past several years has allowed us to create an amazing program that continues our mission of educating and connecting marketers. Diane Simon is one of my biggest supporters. She’s a cheerleader, advisor and friend wrapped up into one special package! Our Healthcare Summit is a direct result of her seeing a need and believing in me to help bring it to life. Kelly Stickel, Founder of Remodista is a supporter of women, a mentor and friend. She’s there for me at a moment’s notice with practical advice on how to build my business and form strong relationships. Steph Casstevens is a breath of fresh air and a reminder of why I love marketing! She’s on our marketing council and her golden “Millennial touch” can be seen on this page and in our marketing plans that you’ll be noticing over the next few months.
