Test Tracks: Jeep, Toyota and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will offer test track opportunities this year.
Scion Swag Machine: The Scion Swag Machine is the world’s first Instagram-powered, near field communication (NFC) – enabled vending machine. It’s a fun, engaging way that event attendees can leverage the power of hand-held mobile devices and social media networks for instant rewards. By tagging and posting an Instagram image with the event-specific hashtag, guests trigger the web-connected machine releasing a variety of giveaways inside.
Dodge Charger Challenge: Fans have the chance to jump behind the wheel of a real Dodge Charger to race the clock in an interactive racing simulator that feels like the real thing as the vehicle tilt and bounce throughout the virtual racing course.
Ride and Drive: Outdoor ride and drive opportunities are also available to visitors. Brands such as Ford, Kia, Scion, and Subaru are offering eligible guests the chance to get behind the wheel of a vehicle for a fifteen to twenty minute drive around McCormick Place.
Toyota Teen Driving Safety: Toyota will feature its TeenDrive365 Distracted Driving Simulator at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show to offer fans the latest, most realistic virtual experience around how common distractions impact one’s ability to remain safe on the road. The enhanced simulator is staged behind the wheel of a real Toyota vehicle and will educate people about distracted driving.
Ford Dynamometer: Chicago Auto Show attendees have the opportunity to sit in a Ford Mustang as it’s fired up and switched into different gears! The dyno will be ignited hourly, so be sure to sign up to be the lucky person who gets to experience it from the driver’s seat.
Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto Live Demos in the Hyundai Sonata: Hyundai is among the first of automakers to offer both Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto inside its vehicles. At the 2015 Chicago Auto Show, Hyundai will provide in-car demonstrations of the two systems inside the all-new Sonata. For example, Hyundai will conduct demonstrations to ensure drivers are familiar with using Google Voice or Apple’s Siri natural speech to make calls, send messages and the navigation app via their smartphones – all in an effort to reduce driver distraction.
