Scott Kleinberg holds a master’s in journalism and communications and more than 15 years of professional experience as a reporter and editor. Scott’s career spans quite the road, from small-town reporter writing long stories, to copy editor chopping other people’s long stories to telling stories mostly in 140 characters or less. As the Chicago Tribune’s social media specialist in the newsroom, Scott works with reporters and editors to break news via social media, share the paper’s content and livetweet events. He also works on special projects. Scott crafted the social media presence for RedEye in 2008 before moving up to the Tribune in 2011.
Carla P. Furca Social Media Manager, Sears Holdings Corp.
Carla Furca is a manager on the Social Media Team at Sears Holdings Corp, a Fortune 50 company. She currently oversees the editorial, customer service and moderation functions of the team. An early adopter of social platforms, she leveraged her specialized skills and knowledge to craft a rewarding Act II of her career. She is the well-known and well-liked @ShesAllWrite on Twitter.
Prior to moving into the social space, Carla worked in human resources management and recruiting in such fields a public accounting, technology and nursing. She has a BA in English Literature from Loyola University Chicago, and a graduate-level certificate in human resources management from North Park University.
